I'm 19 years old. Can I become a famous actor?

The truth is that the odds are against you. Being a popular celebrity actor is not as easy or glamorous as it looks. It might not even be an achieveable goal.

Can I become a popular celebrity at 19 years?

I'd advise against the "famous" part. Less than 1% of actors are famous celebrities. Thus, it's not an achievable goal.

And most of those that are famous didn't plan on becoming famous; it just happened by chance, for example, Jonny Depp, Ashton Kutcher, Mel Gibson, and Jennifer Lawrence, among others.

Additionally, some are gifted in extraordinary ways, e.g., Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson, while others did extraordinary things to become famous celebrities, such as Schwarzenegger.

Actors whose main goal is to be famous end up doing horrific things to become famous. Some of them end up in trouble.

I've seen some even plan murders just to become famous.

Just aspire to become a good actor, and if you're lucky, you'll become famous.

Trying to become a famous celebrity will make you desperate and could make you do horrific things in pursuit of fame.

Connections matter more than you think.

Connections, connections, connections, I can't insist enough on having the right people in the right places.

If you have no connections and are not extremely good-looking or talented, which almost is for most people because acting is such an easy job, forget about it.

MOST popular celebrities have family histories spanning generations in film. Yet even they spend decades before they make it in cinema.

It's more of an opportunity than a skill. You're halfway there if you have someone to push your name forward. Don't necessarily mean you'll make it.

You are 15 years late to the party

You're also too late to the party. Most popular actors started very early, even as child actors. By the time they're your age, they have a decade of acting.

If you're almost through you're teens and not cast in some serious roles, chances are that you might never be.

This doesn't necessarily apply to you because some actors even appeared in a popular film in their 60s.

However, these cases are extremely rare. It's like basing your whole life on winning the lottery. Chances are that you'll never win.

However, every situation is different. This should not discourage you from pursuing your goal. But you need the truth before you embark on an almost impossible mission.

Priorities change as you grow older.

Ironically, you're also too young and might not understand what you want and how it will affect your life.

I bet by the time you're 30 years old, you'll no longer be interested in being a famous actor.

People get tired of pursuing fame after a certain age and after many failures and disappointements.

I'd advise you to pick a side skill that can last a lifetime if acting fails. It always fails for most people.

We have doctors, engineers, and accountants who are now famous celebrities and quit their professions.

Take an example of Judge Judy who has over 30 years experience in court cases and is now a "famous celebrity."

Other highly educated celebrities include Sigourney Weaver, Bradly Cooper, Lupita Nyong’o, Meryl Streep, and Rowan Atkinson (Mr. Bean), among others.
