Alfred Mutua wants NCIC to Investigate Raila for Allegedly Inciting the Youth to Cause Election Violence
Machakos governor Alfred Mutua requested the The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) of Kenya to investigate Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga for allegedly inciting the youth to cause election violence.
Mutua put Raila on spot over using the "Vijana Fire" slogan that he claims would spur hungry youths to commit violence.
"When a leader tells hungry, jobless, suffering and easy to manipulate youth, “Vijana Fire”, what is the message he is sending them? You only fire after taking aim and then pressing the trigger to shoot a fellow Kenyan," Mutua said.
Mutua said such coded utterances could trigger election violence.
"Election violence starts with such utterances and programming. As the saying goes in Swahili, 'Ukiona vyaelea, jua vyaundwa.' Telling youth fire is incitement and tantamount to hate speech and priming youth to violence."
Mutua comments were related to Raila's appearance in the song 'Fire' by Mathare's member of parliament aspirant Kevin Bahati.
Uhuru wants to continue ruling through Raila
Mutua has been making headlines since leaving Azimio.
He alleged that Raila required uhuru's permission to speak at rallies because the president was the chairman of the alliance.
"Raila has to ask Uhuru for permission to speak in Azimio meetings because Uhuru is the Chairman," he said. "The president wants to continue ruling through Raila."
Mutua assures Karua and Raila of their pension
Mutua also requested Raila and Karua to retire assuring them of their pension.
"Ruto has said that he will be sending elderly Kenyans money every month even before he pays civil servants their salaries," Mutua added. "Raila and Karua should go home assured that they will receive their stipend on time with other ageing people."
