Diana Marua tribe and family.

Diana Marua Bahati belongs to the Luo tribe of Kenya from Migori, a sugarcane-growing region, which is also the headquarters of Migori County.

Her hometown was also part of the former Nyanza Province, the Home of the renowned politician Hon. Raila Odinga, also a Luo.

Luo (also Dholuo) is a Nilo-Semitic tribe with closely related tribes in Uganda, such as Acholi, Dinka of South Sudan, and similar tribes in the Eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo and Eastern Tanzania. In Kenya, Luo is the fourth-largest ethnic group.

Unlike other Luo celebrities like Akothee, Diana has repressed her Luo identity and adopted a more urban youth culture leaving many guessing her origins.

Additionally, her appearance and accent cannot be traced to any tribe, further cementing her urban identity.

This allowed her to fit perfectly into the multicultural urban, secular hip-hop culture, which she was part of before marrying a gospel artist who is in touch with his Kamba identity.

Diana's father is a prominent children's health advocate Joseph Omach, founder of the Childhood Cancer Initiative. However, the identity of her mother remains a mystery.

Diana Marua's age, relationship status, husband and ex-lovers.

Diana Marua is married to Kenya's contemporary gospel singer Bahati whose real name is Kevin Mbuvi Kioko.

With Bahati born in 1994 and Diana in 1988, the couple has a six-year age difference with her being older.

The duo started dating when Diana was a video vixen in one of Bahati's songs, ‘Mapenzi.’

In 2017, Diana and Bahati tied the knot in a highly secretive traditional wedding that only became public knowledge weeks later.

However, the marriage had a rocky start, with Diana frequently walking out at the slightest provocation.

“The first year she would move out when we disagreed, it was one of the toughest. You had to go for her at her home; you start at zero again. She walked out 2 or 3 times; stabilizing a relationship takes time,” Bahati told Mseto East Africa.

She complained about Bahati prioritizing his music career over his family and not spending enough time with her.

The marriage has also come under attack by Kenya's self-proclaimed boychild advocate Andrew Kibe.

The US-based Kenyan content creator and former radio host Andrew Kibe accused Marua of overshadowing her husband and leeching from his popularity to develop her brand at his expense.

According to Kibe, Diana and Bahati's marriage hangs on a thread like many other celebrities. In a seemingly highly choreographed charade, Bahati's wife packed and moved out of their matrimonial home in 2018, raising speculations that the couple had finally separated.

Nevertheless, Bahati considers Diana "supportive" and "the best mum" to his children.

Bahati's wife has dated Kenyan football star Victor Wanyama, Nick Mudimba, Kiptoo Kirwa, and Silas Imbaga.

Diana Bahati's children.

Diana has three children with Bahati: Heaven, Majesty, and Malaika. She considers the last pregnancy to have been the toughest.

In 2023, the couple held a viral birthday party for one of their children. Subsequently, the children became the subject of online speculation, with some netizens visually comparing them with various celebrities, including Victor Wanyama, Abel Mutua, and KRG the Don.

However, her husband Bahati has another child named Mueni Bahati with another woman Yvette Obura, who Diana has tried to drag into an online catfight.

The gospel singer denied taking a secret DNA on Diana's daughter Heaven Bahati to determine her paternity and insisted that the test was on Yvette Obura's Mueni.

Kibe has urged Bahati to do a DNA test on all his children and offered to pay for it.

Diana Marua's controversial past.

Diana has, on numerous times, disclosed her checkered past by oversharing uncomfortable relationship details about dating multiple men, including in exchange for financial favors.

"I used to date guys for money at some point in my life because I lacked," Bahati's wife narrated in a 2020 video. "I lacked the whole of my life to a point where all I wanted was a good life, all I wanted was to live well."

She explained how one man would pay her rent while another bought groceries and clothes and took her out.

"... in my early 20s money for me was never a problem," Marua said.

Additionally, Marua disclosed that she used to be a side chick for married men who would provide her with everything.

Bahati's wife also disclosed that some of the numerous men she dated mistreated her, including physically assaulting her.

Earlier, the publicity-loving former video vixen had accused contemporary gospel singer Willy Paul of attempting to assault her.

She also admitted in the presence of her husband to having intimacy with a female friend in her "wild days."

However, Bahati says he fears cheating because of his wife's searing anger.

"You know you have a temper like a Kisii. I am afraid of you finding me cheating on you. You may kill me."

Diana's educational background and career.

Diana's highest qualification is a diploma in Information Technology from KCA University.

Additionally, she has another diploma in Marketing and Communication, Public Relations from St. Paul's University, a Christian higher education institution.

Before fame, she worked at Bio Foods Limited as an Account Executive and at Neo Marketing Kenya Limited as an Assistant HR and Admin.

Currently, she promotes various products such as Bountiful Safaris, Raha, Nivea, and Safaricom, independently and alongside her husband as the Bahati Family.

She also appears as a co-host on various shows and produced rap songs 'Hatutaachana' and 'Narudi Soko' as Diana B, which received mixed reactions.

Bahati and Diana are one of the most discussed couples in Kenya. Despite Bahati’s seemingly fading music career, their relationship drama keeps them in the limelight, earning them promotional gigs.

However, Diana seems to outgrow Bahati with her vibrant personality and love for controversy.

Diana's strong message to her Maths teacher on World Teachers' day

Flaunting her immense wealth, Diana blasted her maths teachers, Mr. Kimamu and Mr. Nzioka, for mistreating, harassing, and doubting her.

"Guys, you know childhood trauma is real," she said.

"One of the most embarrassing moments of my life, my maths teacher, I want you to listen carefully."

Leaning against a Mercedez Benz EQE SUV, she fired the first salvo.

"You see this car? This is one of the many cars that I own."

Moving towards the house, she pointed at a large, imposing structure.

"My maths teacher, this is my mansion. You treated me like a nobody in school."

"Guys, do you know what this teacher did to me?" She asked her fans.

"I am an employer," Diana said po,inting at a shocked and embarrassed young woman seated at the counter. "This is my employee."

"Have I employed you?" She asked another who confirmed the statement. "This teacher thought I would be poor."

Diana proceeded to the kitchen and showcased various dishes including pilau, chicken, and a variety of fruits.

"This fridge you knock like that, and it opens. Look at that."

"I don't know where to start," she said, showcasing various rooms, including her children's large bedroom and lounge area.

"This is where everything happens," the video vixen jumped on her bed, reminding her mathematics teacher that she was enjoying life.

Moving to the back room, she said, "I have a balcony. Can you hear the sounds of the birds singing for me?" She asked.

Bahati's wife had parting words of wisdom for teachers.

"We are all gifted differently. Don't you dare, make your child or your student feel less of a person."

Bahati gifts Diana "another" super car

Diana has made headlines again after receiving another car gift from her musician husband Bahati.

The latest Diana car gift is a Ranger Rover Vouge Autobiography valued at KSh19 million or $126, 666

However, Kenyans on social media raised questions about the frequent car gifts usually involving cars without number plates.

"Si hiyo ni ya show. The real one ni yenye unamwona nayo akidrive," said Munene on X.

Others came to Diana's defense explaining that Diana's frequent car gifts were legitimate.

"Those cars are legit, the only one that I never bump into is the black benz," a fan replied on X.

Bahati has promised to gift Diana seven expensive gifts to celebrate their seventh-year anniversary.

However, the move has caused a backlash from other celebrities, including Terence Creative, who vowed not to bow to pressure as he also celebrates his 7th year anniversary.

"On behalf of all Kenyan men, we are not going to succumb to the pressure that came with the Bahatis. You will not give us pressure," Terence said.

He advised wives to discuss with their husbands, instead of following popular trends.
