List of Classic 105 presenters and their biographies

Classic 105 features some of the most popular radio and TV celebrities. They include:

Maina Kageni and Daniel Ndambuki, aka Mwalimu King’ang’i or Churchill, host the morning breakfast show, the most popular one on Classic 105.

Maina is the most popular host at Classic 105 and probably the whole radio industry, with a unique ability to charm the female audience. Maina is a Manchester United diehard fan who frequently defends the team’s poor performance.

The Laiser Hill High School alumnus has disclosed that he does not have a degree because he dropped out of university to become a truck driver.

Daniel “Churchill” Ndambuki is a successful comedian behind the Churchill Show comedy enterprise. The Mumbuni and Daystar University alumnus has mentored and given exposure to various comedians, including Mammito and DJ Shiti.

Mwalimu King’ang’i studied theology at Word of Life in Kabete and Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communication in 2018, when he was already successful in media. Ndambuki is a staunch Chelsea Football fan and a proud father.

Harriet Kinga takes over the airwaves from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm with the Classic Café show. She studied Medicine at the University of Nairobi before attending Daystar University to study Communications and Public Relations.

Terry Muikamba, aka “Miss Sunshine,” hosts the Evening Drive. The Bishop Ng’andu Girls alumnus and University of Nairobi Bachelor of Law (LL.B) graduate also works as a lawyer and a voice-over artist.

Mike Mondo is Terry’s co-host during the Evening Drive show. The registered nurse has worked with other media outlets such as X-FM, Hot-96, KTN, and KBC in various roles, including as a sports presenter.

Anna Mukasa presents the mid-morning show. The Zetech University Diploma in Journalism and Media Technology holder replaced Mimmy Khamis from the same role in 2019.

Dr. Love, whose real identity remains a mystery, presents the late-night show and discusses various relationship issues.

Classic 105 Cash Cow game

Classic 105 Cash Cow is a guessing game that gives listeners an opportunity to win money by guessing the amount.

The listener wins the amount by saying “STOP” before the cow moos and loses if they fail to stop before the cow.

Listeners who intend to win more money usually risk losing the whole amount, although such a risk could be highly rewarding.

Nevertheless, entering the competition is difficult because the phone lines are usually jammed with listeners attempting to win free money.

Is Maina Kageni Married?

Maina has consistently affirmed his desire to remain a bachelor. Attributing marriage to early demise, the Classic 105 heartthrob said marriage is not for everyone.

“Sometimes marriage is not for everyone, but never say never, and I believe that you know why? Sir Charles Njonjo got married at 54 or 59 na ako 100 sai ..wewe oa tutakuzika 63,” he told Jalang’o.

Maina also cautioned men against impressing their women by blowing cash by buying expensive gifts such as Mercedez Benz supercars.

Is Maina Kageni gay?

Rumors have persisted that the famous Classic 105 presenter is gay, a claim he has always denied.

Over a decade ago, a media outlet published a sensational story claiming that Maina had admitted being gay.

“I am not married. I love and respect women, but the person I marry will be a man,” the story claimed.

However, the allegations could not be independently confirmed, and Maina has mostly ignored those rumors, adding to his mysterious lifestyle.

Maina’s refusal to get married only reinforces those speculations since it is highly unusual for men in Kenya to be lifetime bachelors.

While no evidence supports speculations about Maina’s orientation, some celebrities eventually emerged after decades of speculation.

For example, Sauti Soul singer Willis Austin Chimano admitted being a member of the LGBTQ community in December 2021, ending many years of speculation.

While the urban youth are more accommodating of the LGBTQ community and anti-gay laws are never enforced, homosexuality remains a taboo and a crime in Kenya.

In 2023, the Supreme Court of Kenya allowed the registration and recognition of LGBTQ organizations in the country, leading to demonstrations by religious organizations.
