IEBC declares Beatrice Kemei Elected unopposed as Kericho's women's representative
Beatrice Kemei became the first elected official in the Kenya's 2022 elected after IEBC declared her elected unopposed.
Kemei was vying on Kenya Kwanza's UDA (United Democratic Party) ticket in the party's stronghold.
Ms. Kemei defeated Florence Bore in the nominations after receiving 87,182 votes against her rival's 64,651.
I'm her victory speech, Kemei said her victory as a sign that Kenya Kwanza would win at the presidential poll.
"Today's gazettement is a reflection of the will of people of Kericho and Kenya at large.KONGOI Kericho," she said. "Indeed,this is a precursor for Kenya Kwanza that FREEDOM IS COMING."
